Auto-Lec Rebuilders has been building Caterpillar Direct Start
Conversion Kits since 1980. Since that time hundreds of kits have been
sold. We have developed special drive end housings
for our starters and gear drive alternators that make it possible, in most cases,
to simply "bolt
up" your conversion starter to the tractor. They are the perfect solution
to your pony motor problems. If your machine does not have
a pre-drilled hole, or if you have any difficulties installing your starter,
installation is available.

When ordering you will need to specify the correct
starter drive housing pattern for your application. Please refer to the
following patterns so that we may supply you with the correct drive housing
for your application.

You may order the complete kit or a starter only.
Our kits include the following parts: 24 volt starter, 24 volt generator
(or alternator for some applications), voltage regulator, Amp. gauge, heavy
duty starter button, 1/O cable, cable ends, and copper eyes. The customer
will need to supply batteries and enough 10 and 12 gage wire to hook up
the amp. gage, starter button, generator, and regulator.
Gear drive alternators (below) are available
separately from the kit for $350.**
